Accepted but not processed

Hello,

My return was electronically filed in 1/29 (almost 10 weeks ago) and TurboTax shows “accepted” but IRS website shows “Your 2023 Tax Return is Not Processed”. The transcripts show N/A for 2023. The payment appears in the balance.
Do I have to resubmit my tax forms? Or send them by mail? Was there a glitch in the system?
What should I do?
Thanks.

No. you do not do anything unless contacted by the IRS through the mail.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

Hi,

Question for OP, did this ever get resolved? I am experiencing similar things. I filed 3 weeks ago, IRS reports as the return has been accepted. But  my transcript doesn't even show a cycle number/date and incorrect/old filing status from last year.

Thanks,

Bob

Hi @NotSoklear,

Yes, it was resolved. I had to call IRS and it happened they haven’t received an update of my data from SSA. They provided me an SSA phone number that I called and a few days later I called IRS again. Everything was resolved and all agents were very friendly and able to help.
