3rd stimus will it have issues

Last stimulus was delayed due to paying for turbo tax with my refund.  Finally got it after they worked with the irs to fix.  I haven’t filed my 2020 taxes yet.  Will this be an issue again for the 3rd or do we assume since they sent the deposit for the second check it should be fine?

No, I would not assume because the IRS had some issues with the second stimulus like your situation last year.  File the 2020 tax return so that it is on file without any question where the stimulus should be deposited for the third round once it is passed. Continue to watch the link below for the latest information about the third stimulus.

The 2020 return requires a reconciliation of your stimulus payments on the Recovery Rebate Credit worksheet.  You can complete that process using the steps below.

 

In TurboTax Online (or CD/Download), to claim the Recovery Rebate credit please do the following:

  1. Sign into your account and continue from where you left off
  2. Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Federal Review on the top of the screen
  3. On the next page titled Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount, click on Continue
  4. Follow the interview
  5. TurboTax will determine whether you are entitled to any additional stimulus
  6. Any stimulus amount remaining due to you will show as a credit on line 30 of your form 1040.

Get My Payment - Select the button Get My Payment to see if your information is current based on the payments you did receive.
