1098 T form and Union paid school

Hello,

So, my job Union paid for my school and last year when i did my taxes i received a 1098 T form. My tax person said i had to turn this in which i did and had to pay taxes on that amount. But ive also read that i did not have to turn it in? This year i am anticipating to receive another 1098T for this year, do i have to turn it in?

Also, for the 1098T i submitted last year, if i didnt have to actually pay those taxes, am eligible to request the IRS return that amount to me?

The 1098-T form is informational  to use in the education credits section and if they did not give you more than the box 1 tuition costs then nothing is taxable on your return even if you entered the 1098-T info the system.   Review your last year's return ... was there any marginal entry on line 1 of the form 1040 ?
