1040-x for multiple years involving a carryover

I discovered that i had missed some deductible insurance premiums for the last several years. In one of the years i had to carryover a credit, so the carryover (and use of the following year) are affected. Can I file both amendments at once? Or do i need to wait for the first year to be accepted before filing the second year. The net would be $0 in year 1 and a refund for year 2.

You can mail both amended returns at the same time. You do not have to wait for the first one to be processed before filing the second. But mail them in separate envelopes. Do not mail two tax returns in the same envelope.

In the explanation of changes for the second year, be sure to clearly explain that the change is based on a change to the previous year, and that you have also amended the previous year.
