How do I delete my 2020 1099-NEC?

SOLVEDby TurboTax64Updated February 02, 2022

If you worked as an independent contractor for Uber in 2020 and imported your 1099-NEC for that tax year, you’ll likely have to import your 1099-NEC for 2021 as well.

When reviewing your 2021 return, you may experience an error which states that your 2020 1099-NEC needs review. The error looks like this:

There's no need to review your prior year 1099-NEC. To fix this issue, you’ll need to delete the 2020 entry using the trash icon.

Here’s instructions on how to delete your 2020 1099-NEC:

  1. Sign into your TurboTax account.
  2. Open or continue to your return.
  3. Go to the Federal Income & Expenses section.
  4. If you’ve already imported your 1099-NEC forms, you'll see a Review button next to your 2020 1099-NEC.
  5. Select the trash icon to remove the line item for 2020.
  6. Continue filing your return.
