Form 5498-SA reports contributions to your Health Savings Account (HSA), Archer MSA, or Medicare Advantage MSA.
You don't enter this form into TurboTax; your account custodian sends it to you for informational purposes only. We recommend that you keep it with your tax return records.
If you made a contribution to one of these accounts (separate from company contributions), however, refer to the following instructions to enter them into TurboTax:
- Navigate to the Deductions and Credits section under the Federal taxes heading
- Scroll down to the Medical section, then click the Start button next to HSA/MSA Contributions
- Select your type of account on the next screen, then click Continue
- Answer Yes or No to the question, Did you use your Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for anything in 2022?
- Enter the information from your 1099-SA, then click Continue
- Progress through the remaining screens until all your information has been completed
