Do I need to enter Form 5498-SA?

by TurboTax Updated about 12 hours ago

No, you don't need to enter Form 5498-SA into TurboTax.

The 5498-SA reports contributions to:

  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
  • Archer Medical Savings Accounts (MSA)
  • Medicare Advantage Medical Savings Accounts

If you contributed to one of these accounts separate from company contributions, follow these steps:

Note: If your TurboTax looks different from what’s described here, learn more.

  1. Go to Deductions & Credits.
  2. Under Medical, select Start next to HSA, MSA Contributions.
  3. Select your type of account on the next screen, then select Continue.
  4. Answer Yes or No to Did you use your Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for anything in 2023?
  5. Enter the information from your 1099-SA, then select Continue.
  6. Go through the rest of the screens until you have finished all your information.
