How do I enter my expenses from my Uber Tax Summary in TurboTax Online?
Follow these steps to enter the expenses from your Uber Tax Summary into TurboTax.
1. Review the expenses in your Uber Tax Summary
Certain Uber expenses need to be combined and entered as a single amount in TurboTax.
To review your Uber expenses:
Sign in to Uber.com.
Select the Tax Information tab at the top.
Go to the Tax Documents section and Download your Yearly Summary for 2025.
Your Yearly Summary will have several expense categories (like Tolls, Black Car Fund, Safe Rides Fee). Each category will have an amount shown for the year.
2. Enter your Uber expenses in TurboTax
Go to the self-employment expenses screen under Wages & Income.
Answer Yes on the Did you have any self-employment income or expenses? screen and enter your Uber work.
If you land on the Your 2025 self-employed work summary screen instead, select Edit next to your rideshare driving work. If you haven't added your Uber work yet, select Add another line of work to enter this info.
Answer any questions until you come to the Here's your Rideshare driving info page.
In the Expenses section, select the pen icon beside each category to enter your expenses (use the table below for guidance).
Miscellaneous expenses
It’s perfectly okay to enter miscellaneous expenses. As a self-employed person, you'll typically have some expenses that don’t quite fit into the expense categories listed on tax forms. In this case you'll definitely want to add your own labels for certain expenses.
To add miscellaneous expenses:
From the Select any new expense categories you have screen, search for Other miscellaneous expenses under the Less Common section.
You can then give a description and amount to each miscellaneous expense that you have.
You can group several expenses together under one name as appropriate.
