How do I fix captcha issues?

Some TurboTax customers are experiencing issues when entering the captcha to e-file their taxes.

Follow these steps to fix this issue:

  • Disconnect from any virtual private network (VPN) connections you may be using. This alone may fix the issue.

  • Sign out of TurboTax.

  • Clear your cache to remove any problematic temporary files.

  • Close your browser.

  • Reopen your browser and allow cookies.

  • Sign in to TurboTax and try to e-file again.

If the captcha still doesn't work, try e-filing in an incognito/private browser or an entirely different internet browser (like Safari, Google Chrome, or Firefox).

You can always choose to print and mail your return too.
