How do I fix captcha issues?

Some TurboTax customers are experiencing issues when entering the captcha to e-file their taxes.

Follow these steps to fix this issue:

  1. Disconnect from any virtual private network (VPN) connections you may be using. This alone may fix the issue.
  2. Sign out of TurboTax.
  3. Clear your cache to remove any problematic temporary files.
  4. Close your browser.
  5. Reopen your browser and allow cookies.
  6. Sign in to TurboTax and try to e-file again.

If the captcha still doesn't work, try e-filing in an incognito/private browser or an entirely different internet browser (like Safari, Google Chrome, or Firefox).

You can always choose to print and mail your return too.
