Some retired Louisiana TurboTax Online customers may experience an issue with receiving a Form 1099-R that should be exempt and has an empty box in line 16, causing the form to not be recognized as exempt.

Follow these steps to resolve this issue:

  • Enter the 1099-R as received into the product.

  • When you get to line 16, don't leave it blank. Enter the amount received in line 1.

  • Continue and choose what best describes your 1099-R.
