If you come across a screen that's blank or has missing buttons and images in TurboTax Desktop for Windows, try these fixes.
- Updated your software to the most recent version
- Update video card drivers
- You can update your video card driver by visiting your video card manufacturer's website. For some integrated system video cards, you might be able to do this via a Windows update
- Disconnect from your VPN and temporarily turn off security software
- After temporarily disabling these, add TurboTax and Intuit to any exception lists in your software
- Run TurboTax as an administrator
- Exit TurboTax if it's still running
- Right-click the TurboTax icon on your desktop
- Select Properties
- Select Compatibility
- Under Settings, check the Run this program as an administrator box and select Apply
- Adjust your display resolution and hide the Windows taskbar
- Select Start and then Control Panel
- Select Display
- Select Settings
- Adjust the Screen Resolution to more than 800x600
- Select OK to apply the change and close the window
- Right-click the Windows taskbar and select Taskbar settings
- Select Automatically hide the taskbar
- Close the window to apply the change
- To make the taskbar reappear, hover over the bottom of the screen
