How do I amend my return to claim the Oklahoma Child Tax Credit?

by TurboTax11 Updated about 18 hours ago

Some of our Oklahoma customers may not have claimed the Oklahoma Child Tax Credit on their 2021 state taxes. This could have caused these customers to overpay their Oklahoma taxes.

To find out if you’re owed an additional refund, sign in to the TurboTax account you used to prepare your 2021 tax return. If your refund/balance due amount has changed, we recommend you amend your state tax return.

Note that e-filing isn’t available for amended state returns—you’ll need to print and mail your amended return.

To amend your return in TurboTax, follow the instructions found here:

  1. Write down the original refund or balance due amount for your Oklahoma income taxes. To find this number, check the paper/PDF copy of your original 2021 return, or your banking records.
  2. Sign in to TurboTax.
  3. On your Tax Home, scroll down to Your tax returns & documents, then select 2021. Select Amend (change) return and then select Amend Using TurboTax Online.
