How do I amend my 2024 Massachusetts state tax return to fix the Other Interest and Dividends?
by TurboTax• Updated 1 week ago
Due to an error, some Massachusetts taxpayers didn't include interest income from Partnerships and S Corporations on the state tax return. As a result, these taxpayers underpaid their state taxes.
If we notified you, we recommend you submit an amended state tax return as soon as possible to avoid additional penalties and interest on the unpaid balance.
To correct your return, please follow the steps below:
- Use TurboTax to amend your state tax return.
- Enter “TO ADD OTHER INTEREST AND DIVIDENDS” as the reason for amending.
- Follow the instructions provided by TurboTax to print, sign and date the amended state tax return. The amended return will need to be mailed to the address provided with the instructions along with the balance due.
- Save a copy of your amended state tax return for your records.
TurboTax experts are available to answer your questions at 844-333-2161 (Monday–Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM ET). When you speak with an expert, just mention MA Other Interest and Dividends so they know exactly what you’re calling about.
