How do I amend my 2022 Michigan state tax return to correct my Social Security deduction?

by TurboTax39 Updated 2 months ago

Some customers who filed a Michigan nonresident tax return received a deduction for taxable Social Security Benefits even though the taxable Benefits weren't included on the Michigan nonresident tax return.

As a result, taxpayers underpaid their Michigan state taxes.

To amend your return, select your product and follow the instructions.

  1. Write down the original refund or balance due amount for your Michigan income taxes. We recommend you check the paper/PDF copy of your return, or your banking records to verify the correct amount.
