Your transmission didnt go through

Whenever I go to file it says that my transmission didn't go through and that efile for tax year 2022 is unavailable. I've cleared my cookies and tried using different browsers. And it won't let me clear my return and start over because it says I already paid for turbotax products. Is there anything else I can do or is this a error with turbotax

Are all the forms and schedules for your tax return finalized?  Click on Review on the left side of the online program screen to see if your return is waiting on any forms or schedules.

Yes, I got an email that my state forms are ready to file (ky)

Yes but the state cannot go until the federal return  can go  and if you already sent the federal you must wait for the feds to accept the return for processing before you can send the state.

Have you already e-filed the federal tax return?  If so, the state tax return cannot be e-filed until the federal tax return has been accepted by the IRS.

The IRS will not start to begin accepting federal tax returns until January 23, 2023.

It's not transmitting federal or state it's just saying my transmission didn't go through.

No unless this site is messed up but it's been telling me that since I first tried to file

In this case, since other TurboTax users have been able to e-file their 2022 return, it would be best to contact TurboTax support for assistance.

But there have been instances where the web browser being used have caused an issue.  You might want to try using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox if not already using those browsers.

Mine Says the same thing I think it's because the feds aren't accepting Until the 23rd of January

Everyone saying that you have to have your federal tax return accepted before you can file state. My federal was accepted on the 19th and I still can’t submit my state without it telling me “Tax Year 2022 transmissions are not available”

Does your state tax return have forms or schedules that have not yet been finalized?

Click on Review on the left side of the online program screen to see if any are listed.

I've cleared my cookies and tried using different browsers and still unable to transmit.  

 

Error message: 

Your transmission didn't go through

We could not e-file your return for the following reason:
Tax Year 2022 transmissions are not available.

Some forms may not be available which can cause this message.  Please see the Help Article here to look up your specific state or federal forms.

I got the same error here in NC 1/26/23

 

maybe the state isnt ready?

i may try to just file federal first but i think ill have to start all over.. sigh.. are we too early?

Same issue for me here in NC all afternoon.  Took all of the troubleshooting steps to prove that it isn't on my end.  Now waiting for a call from customer support.  Serves me right I guess for trying to get a jump on filing this year.  Seems a little unfair that your payment is accepted prior to the returns being submitted electronically.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I called TurboTax and was on the phone for quite some time. They essentially told me to try again tonight or tomorrow because it might be because so many users are trying to submit.....

Same problem here. I receieved an email stating all forms are ready to file, but then get the same message. I was waiting for a form from NC. I kind of think they jumped the gun to get people to pay for their service in advance.

You may need to file Federal return by itself, then file State once those returns are being accepted. 

I just ran across this issue today. After selecting “file later” for my state, the Federal return transmitted without errors.

I'm also trying to file NC.
Someone else in this thread linked to this tool . According to that link, most of the NC forms should be available for e-file as-of today (01/26/2023) but maybe that's the issue.

 

If this is the problem, I'm REALLY REALLY mad at TurboTax for allowing me to even attempt this, and that the error message doesn't tell me what the issue is, and that the "Help" suggests other browsers, disabling pop-ups, and clearing cookies. Which I have tried a half-dozen times.

NC here and its doing the same. Seems based on a number of people that they are not accepting like they said. So though its upsetting to do all that and poof we cannot efile I am just going to wait another day or till monday to try again. Atleast it keeps all the info saved so its just a few clicks.
