Wrong Version

I paid for and downloaded the wrong version of Turbotax. I need the self-employed version and need to file my taxes ASAP. I can't figure out how to request a refund --even after specifically clicking on a link shared. How do I get a refund and/or upgrade to the right veresion?

The name of the 2023 software you need if you want the desktop equivalent of "Self-Employed" is Home and Business.   And...for 2023, online Self-Employed has been replaced by Premium.    Any version of the CD/download can be used for self-employment income; all versions of the desktop software can prepare the Schedule C you need for your business expenses.

Or are you trying to prepare a 2022 return---is that why you say you need to file ASAP?    Again, any version of the CD/download will work.  And if you really want to, you can upgrade to Home and Business within the downloaded software that you already have.

As @xmasbaby0 indicated, if you want the Home & Business edition of the desktop software all you need to do is click on Upgrade TurboTax at the bottom right of the TurboTax desktop screen.  You would then be asked to pay the difference between the version you are currently using the the Home & Business edition.

What version did you get?  We can tell you how to enter your business income & expenses in all the Desktop versions.  You probably don't need to upgrade.  Unless you bought the wrong YEAR.

Thank you! I was able to upgrade. Funny enough, I didn't notice the upgrade arrow.
