Windows 10 & Turbotax 2025

I've used Turbo Tax since the 90's; my machines are newer however Windows 11 will not work.  I'm also very reluctant to use ON-LINE versions as data is now stored in the cloud which is also a potential security issue.

TurboTax  should depend on the O/S and the hardware to provide security and be backwards compatible to Windows 10.

I had already started to explore alternative Tax Software solutions for Canada early in 2025 due to handling of investment forms.   It seems Intuit is forcing customers to drop the product and move to other vendors.

I can not spend the $ on TurboTax to download in advance only to find out it will not run on a fully updated  Windows 10 machine.

I believe I read you can still use Windows 10 for Canada.

No  the issues is not resolved.  'Believing it will work' on Windows 10 is not a confirmation that it will work.   On-line versions with data storage in the cloud are not an option.

@AdrianJ58   Are you doing a Canada return?   The USA  Turbo Tax needs Windows 11.     Unless you are  using the separate Business program  (not to be confused with the personal Home &  Business).  You can still use Windows 10 for Business.

Looking to use TurboTax Premier.  The packaging  clearly indicates 'Windows 11'.

I won't be spending  $ for a trial  only to find it doesn't work.

There is an economical Canadian Software alternative to TurboTax; it's unfortunate that I may be switching to that after using TurboTax variations for 20ish years
