Download the update file manually. It is easy. Just save the file and click run. It will ask you to restart your computer and then it adds the federal updates that wouldn't download or install. When you restart TurboTax make sure to run updates again if you have any states that wouldn't update.
there is no update to download. I stated this in my problem report. Need a phone number to contact support!
I had this problem yesterday and spent a good hour on the phone with a lovely tech person named Crystal . . . we tried many things - she ended up emailing me a link to an update file that I installed manually and that seemed to do the trick - was finally able to transmit. To get to a real person, I filled out a help form online and then was assigned a case ID and given a number to call. I called and the wait was pretty long, but they offered me a chance to have someone call me back - and that was Crystal. The process to get there was convoluted, but I did get service once I talked to a real person.
I think @shottsb was referring to the following link:
Worth a shot for sure. I tried this and it didn't work for me. I ended up using a separate page to uninstall/reinstall TurboTax. But I had to do extra steps to avoid re-buying the state forms. Not sure this will work for anybody else, maybe it was just dumb luck.
If you want to see the steps I used, you can take a look:
I'm not sure what the file locations would be for Mac users though, sorry. Good luck!
