Question

Why won’t the screen let me continue when I get a pop up saying “should be alphanumeric”?

I'm trying to enter NJ property tax "Lot No." "8.2", when I get the popup saying "should be alphanumeric." The problem is that number "8.2" has no alpha in it. The page won't let me continue?

I'm sorry, did that not clear up the error?

Field won't accommodate all those characters.  I just left the field blank and then continued!  The program obviously has a glitch in it.  It's a problem for Intuit to solve.

Maybe it doesn't like the "."  .

I didn't put the quotes in the field.  No offense, but I think this needs an Intuit tech.

Your'e guessing.  This issue can only be solved by Intuit.  Sorry.

NJ does not like the decimal or dot. That is what @TurboTaxKrisD was trying to tell you: to omit that. See bottom of page 29 here:

Actually, you're on the right track here.  This time I read the TTax instructions and discovered that TTax puts the decimal in for you between the two blank "lot" fields.  I ignored that instruction in my initial go-thru!  The screen intends for you to put the whole number in field 1 and the decimal in field 2, and no "decimal points" in any field.  You're tips were good as far as they went; I just needed a little more.  Thanks.

Try entering   Lot 8.2   using the letters in the word "lot".

NJ does not like the word Lot, nor the decimal point.
