Why failure to perform update in windows 10 system

Windows 10 Pro (x64) current build

TurboTax 2021

 

When applying updates on this one system, it failed and locked up. Said to go to manila updates which I did but when staring TurboTax, it still went to "Checking for updates" and hung. This technical issue  should have been resolved early on. I had to install the software on another system (laptop) to file my taxes. Unacceptable.

Uninstalled WIN 10 updates can cause all sorts of issues ... download and install all the WIN 10 OS updates and reboot the computer at least twice so they all get installed.  Then try updating the TT program again.

I am current with all Windows 10 Pro updates. 

 

Here are screen shots of the error posting. D drive is an SSD that holds all my program files for faster processing. The D drive is where I originally installed TurboTax 2021.

 

Something is wrong here.
