Why does TT require one user account for all installs?

This new requirement to use one user account for installing on up to 5 computers seems insane. The purchaser (me) of TT should not be required to share my login credentials with my kids so that they can do their tax returns.  Am I missing something here? This is a terrible way to handle security. Surely, there is a way for our family to use the "up to 5" returns as we have done in past years.

@mpricettax  you can do up to 5 returns on one laptop.  You are the owner of the software license.  Only with the desktop version can you do this.  Software sharing with others, beyond trusted family, is not advisable. The License Code is for the Desktop CD/Download program.  You can install it on 5 computers you own.

Online every user needs their own account.  You would never share an account using online tax.

There is no data kept online if you are using desktop download only.  All that is there is the license activation. If you chose to have a cc on file.
