I have already contacted the customer service number for Green Dot, they could not tell me what was wrong or when it would be fixed.
My return was accepted by the IRS, the $2,000 advance is in the account.
Every time I try to use the temporary card assigned that you are told can be used for online purchases it does not work. It does not work with any merchants across multiple platforms.
What is the point of getting an advance within 1 hour* of IRS acceptance if you cannot access the money? Why should I have to wait 5-10 business days?! That is not an advance at all and will take the same amount of time if I just waited for the IRS to deposit in to my bank account.
This is shady, scammy, and unethical.
If this is not promptly resolved I will never use Turbo Tax again, I have used it for many years, and use it to file my family members for them as well. This is absurd.
I am having the same issue. When I called the customer service phone number I was told just to be patient. It will work in an hour or so. It's been 3 hours since that call. Nothing.
Same here. Phone support has had me on hold for over 25 minutes each time i called today. And each time they said to wait an hour. Its been 7 hours since my first call and they have given me no answers
I agree, if TurboTax doesn’t at least give us some sort of real update on what the issue is that so many people are having with the temp cards I’ll go somewhere else next year.
I am still having trouble with my temp card. I called and they said that there specialist were on it. But they still don't know how long it is going to be. This is ridiculous. This is my first time using turbo tax and other than the price I am very unsatisfied. Can they just give us some solid answers please.
I called again and now they told me it is expected to be resolved at 12am.
I doubt this.
They told me I am not expected to get my physical card until 02/04/2020. So, a full week.
which means this advance is an absolute waste.
I am completely disappointed and dissatisfied.

Called them and they said they issued me a new temporary card and they were expedited it should be here in the next 24 hours they said that’s what everybody has to do!! So please hurry so you guys can get your advances this week
What number did you call? I called yesterday and got told to be patient and an apology for the inconvenience, but this is absurd. I have been using TT for 7 years, and this is the first time I have been really disappointed with the service.

Why cant they just tell me what my new card number is or just email it to me that would be better why do I have to wait another 24 hours some Refund advance so it will be working when I get my actual refund from the IRS. Have a friend who did Jackson Hewitt and he was able to use his right away.

I called the (888) 285-4169 number and he said they issued me new card numbers and it should be here tomorrow I will keep you guys updated I think y’all should do the same
Thank you. I had the same problem. I tried to reach out three times, put on hold for no less than nineteen minutes per call only for every call to be dropped before I could even speak to an agent. It would ring to put me through and then drop. I was informed by another user that none of the temporary cards are working and that I needed to reach out to get an emergency card overnighted...which would be cool except for the fact that I can't get through to speak with anyone.
This was my first time using Turbotax and my last. I will definitely be going back to Taxact next year. They don't offer advances but they offer peace of mind. If I need them, they answer. Not being able to reach people dealing with my money is something I am not comfortable with.
We called this morning as well. They said we would get an expedited card within 1 day. We will see if we get it. We have been trying to use our temporary card for two days and they said they were working in fixing it. But it would be better to use the card. We also have to call when we receive the card and make sure it's not the old card number so that were activating the right one.
@Anonymous Did you even read the post or the responses? How insulting can you be! I have already called that number numerous time! Shame on you and shame on Turbo Tax and Green Dot. Do not give me generic copy pasted responses!
Was finally able to link my temporary card to PayPal and pull money off of it, of course I had to pay the convenience fee to do this through PayPal, so I lost more money. But I did not trust green dot or turbo tax anymore so I did not want to leave the money there a second longer.
I was able to pull all of the advance money of there.
As for what I will do when the rest of my return gets put on there, I have no idea.
I am supposed to have almost $8,000 more deposited on there, and I am concerned. Hopefully this gets figured out.

How did y'all get a person on the phone? Every time I call the 888-285-4169 number, it wants me to type in the card number. I ordered the card on Jan 13th, but never received it. I can't type in a card number I never received. I need a person so I can order a new one.
you get a live person by waiting over an hour on the phone on hold. Don't worry just got my card in the mail but since the issues they had they canceled that one. sending a new one and that won't be here till February 3rd she said. This advanced refund sitting in my account for more than a week can use it by the time I get my card and able to use it the IRS will have deposited my refund. Good job turbo tax on selecting Green dot the worst company ever. Customer service is bad No one knows what's going. Pick another company
