Why does it seem like my return isn’t very big?

Refunds can vary from year to year. There are many variables that contribute to the amount of money you can have refunded to you.

First, go over your entries to make sure that they are correct. Next, compare your return, line by line, with last year's. In this way, you can see any changes between this year and last.

I used the TurboTax calculator and then I decided to do my taxes through here and once I completed all my information it had changed my refund amount by a couple thousand dollars and I’m confused how it’s such a drastic change

Compare your entries in the calculator vs the actual return to see if there are any differences.

Check your data entry carefully.  Be sure you didn't mistype a decimal point for a comma, or vice-versa.  Look at your 2019 and 2020 returns side by side.  Something may stand out.

Also, did you perhaps submit a new W-4 form to change your withholding for 2020?

Where is the difference? Did you make an entry in the calculator that was not on the return or vice versa? Which line number?
