Whoops! We hit a snag loading your data. Please try again! error when entering US address

I am an American citizen living in the UK.

 

I have entered all my tax information as requested by Turbotax. When I come to the "Review" section, it asks for a US address. When I enter a US address, I get the message:

 

"Whoops! We hit a snag loading your data. Please try again."

 

I cannot get past this to file my taxes. I have tried three different web browsers and even different addresses, to no avail.

Is it asking for a US address to complete payment of your TurboTax fees?

Hello MichelleLO:

 

No, it is asking for a US address as part of the "Review" section before I file. There is a page which states that the filing is free. The next page says. "To file, please enter your registration information" which is an address. At bottom it says, "Note: You must have a U.S. address in order to register." When I enter a US address it then says, "Error. Whoops! We hit a snag loading your data. Please try again." I cannot get past this page to file my taxes.

I know that you have mentioned already trying different browsers; however please try clearing your browser's cache and deleting cookies and let us know if the issue persists after the fact.

Hello:

 

I have just tried it on Microsoft Edge, which is a browser I almost never use and which I hadn't tried before with Turbotax. I cleared the cache and all cookies. It did the exact same thing as all the other times I have tried to get past the US address step.

 

I don't know whether it is pertinent or not, but Turbotax autofills the registration address form with my UK address at the beginning of the process, and then after the error message comes up.

Hey also mines is doing same i did all clear switch use computer different phone chrime

safari and Firefox still same issue

I had this issue with my customer earlier, "Whoops we hit a snag loading your data" when he was trying to pay for Turbotax with his credit card.  This error turned out to be due to a non-US address being in the return.  In my customer's case the credit card (cc) address was US, but the address in My Info was not. 

 

We resolved the issue by temporarily changing the address that was not a US address in the My Info section to the same US address that was on the CC, JUST UNTIL the payment was processed. The then customer went back and changed the My Info address back to the non-US address, after his payment was successfully processed.  Hope this helps somebody.
