If you are looking for the line on the tax return, estimated payments are located on Form 1040 line 65 2016 estimated tax payments and amount applied from 2015 return and Form 1040A, line 41.

If you are looking for data entry for 1040ES:

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Deductions & Credits
  3. Scroll down to Estimates and Other taxes Paid
  4. Select Estimates

I'm trying to complete 1040ES for 2019. On line 7 which states: "Credits (see instructions). Do not Include any income tax withholding on this line".

I'm just trying to figure out if this would be the same entry line as #18 on form 1040 or where on 1040 would I find this line (if I need to enter it on 1040ES) Or should I just enter 0?

My husband and I file jointly and I just became a freelancer beginning in 2019, so this is all new to me.

You can enter your Estimated Tax Payments (1040ES)  into the program by doing the following:

  1. Click on the "Deductions and Credits" section under the Federal Tab
  2. Select "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid".  (If you do not see this, click on "See All Tax Breaks")
  3. Select "Estimated Tax Payments"
  4. You will then be able to enter any Federal estimated tax payments made as well as any State estimated taxes paid, if applicable

Your 2019 1040 ES (Estimated tax payments) will show up on Schedule 3, Line 8.  This amount then flows onto your Federal Income Tax Form 1040, page 2, Line 18d.
