I've used TurboTax every December for the past 30+ years to do estimates, experiment with what-ifs, and do end of the year financial transactions to optimize what I must pay in taxes.
I'm disappointed that the Step-by-Step is not available for qualified account distributions, but since I can access it through forms mode and 1099-R, I'm good for now.
Now comes the need to estimate what would happen with selling an ETF. So I go to step-by-step and it's not available until FEBRUARY! OK, I said, I'll just do it manually with 1099-B. But no .. going into forms mode and searching for 1099-B results in nothing.
What the heck?
There should be some sort of worksheet in which you can enter the proceeds and your basis. Look for something like an asset worksheet or capital asset worksheet in Forms Mode.
