There is no block 2a on a W2. Did you get a 1099R instead of a W2? Or are you trying to enter the W2 in the wrong place?
Sounds like you are trying to enter a 1099R in the W2 s3ction.
Enter a 1099R under
Federal Taxes Tab or Personal (Home & Business)
Wages & Income at the top
Then scroll way down to Retirement Plans and Social Security,
Then IRA, 401(k), Pension Plans (1099R) - click Start or Revisit
There are 4 boxes. Be sure to pick the right box for the kind of 1099R you got.
If you are filing a Joint return be sure to pick which person it is for.
Thks for reply, that's what I think (forms mixed up). Okay, sorry for "question" I figured it out, you're right. I'm used to TurboTax E-file where they ask early on what kind of income do I have .... mine is retirement income with a of Statement Annuity Paid, not an actual W2 even tho that's what I call it. My problem right now is that I'm working on 2019 taxes, a downloaded file to fill in and mail. I'm going screen by screen filling in blanks without anyone asking me ahead of time if it's retirement income. Darn it! I'd rather be doing E-File but it's my fault for not filling sooner (I have a refund coming, still dumb of me to wait). Thank you very much for your time (-:
