What changed intuit?

Historically when I had a house, and other advanced tax situations I payed around $80 for Turbo Tax Premium. This year I am renting a room, have barely worked due to a disability and you are charging me:

$110 for my federal and state returns

and another $40 if I want it taken out of my return.

Seeing as I am doing all the **bleep** work why is it so expensive this year? I have never paid this much, and also I have never made this little in my years using this service. Can you greedy SOB's like not purchase a new beach house without charging all this extra or what? I'd really like to hear the rationalization here!

The version of the software you need depends on which forms and schedules are required for your return.  It sounds like you needed to use Premier.   One option would be to use desktop software instead--even desktop Deluxe would have all of the forms and would be less expensive if your OS can support desktop software.

You do NOT have to pay the "refund processing fee of $39.99 if you pay the fees upfront using a credit card.

("Seeing as I am doing all the **bleep** work ..."   Do you really think so---try using the paper forms, a calculator and an IRS instruction book and see if you did "all the work" using tax software.....)

tax software prices are going up, not just TurboTax.

You will pay it, because you must file.

It's still less than my monthly cable charge. Anything below that I consider just in the noise.
