After entering information from W2 the employer's name is being changed so that is does not agree with information printed W2 form. I have corrected the employer's name several times but it still reverts to incorrect information once I save the information I have entered.
How can I resolve this?
The employer's name that is displayed after you enter the W-2 information does not have to match what is on your W-2. The IRS tracks your employer by their Employer Identification Number (EIN) and not the employer's name. It is not unusual to have an employer's name be different from what is shown on the W-2 after entering the EIN. As long as you have entered the EIN as shown on the W-2 you will have no problems with the name being different.
What is it doing to the employer name? Do you have a very long employer name? Is it breaking it up and putting part of the employer name in the "Employer name line 2 (optional)"?
It is a long employer's name & is breaking up into 2 lines which I am okay with but in the middle of the employer's name after the symbol "&" it is adding "amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;" and then finishing employer's name. I am hesitant to efile forms with the name appearing with that sequence.
