w2 box 15

my NJ w2 has 2 rows of entries for box 15.

first one is NJ  then in Emp state ID number.. XXX-XXX-XXX/000 then state wages and then state income tax.

2nd one is NJ then in Emp state ID number.. FLI                              then no state wages and then state income tax.

Do i add a state here and do 2 NJs or does the FLI go somewhere else??

The FLI goes in box 14. It's not a second state line.

Thanks. Looks like their w2 is incorrect then because they put that in box 15 and state income tax for it in box 17 for some reason.

Not sure why it isnt in box 14.  I will let our Payroll dept know about this.

@gmott18  Don't bother talking to payroll about it. The New Jersey Division of Taxation tells employers to do it that way, even though it's incorrect according to the IRS instructions. A lot of New Jersey employers do it the same way.

OK, thanks for that information.  This is first time I filed with a NJ w2. I appreciate that information.
