W-2 input is messed up currently in the windows desktop version....

I went to add a new W-2 we received today into the windows desktop version and discovered that the input screen for it is really messed up. I'm on a 4K monitor, saw this tiny input area with scroll bas, expanded the screen, and still ended up with this very tiny input area that I needed to scroll around to enter things a piece at a time. Please fix this in your next update. This screen was perfectly fine when I entered a different W-2 a week ago.

That looks like you have the font size for the program minimized to 50%.

Click on the Large A at the bottom right corner of the TurboTax program and maximize the font size to 100%

As you can see, I tested it out on my end, in my desktop version of TurboTax and the font area is the normal size. @DoninGA already mentioned, you may have to go to the bottom right of the program and adjust the font to 100% .

I think something else is going on.  The text inside is still at 100%.  It's the scroll bars that's weird.  I have the same H&B version.  If I shrink down to 50% the text gets very small.   The second line.......other income types shrinks down to the end of Deductions & Credits.  And I don't get any scroll bars.

Do other screens show up ok?

Yes, other screens I've checked on seem to show up OK. Oddly enough, I got the W-2 screen to show properly one time after trying all sorts of things like restarting turbo tax, changing the windows size, etc. But now it's back to what it was doing again. It has nothing to do with the font size as some of the earlier posts suggested. I can change that to 200% and it becomes even more unusable 🙂

Then try this -

Save your tax return and close the TurboTax program.

Right click on the TurboTax icon

Click on Properties

Click on the Compatibility tab

Check the box Run this program as an administrator

Click on Apply and OK

Start the TurboTax program and see if the problem persists.

@davlarso

Did you figure out a fix yet?  If so, How?

Someone else just posted with the same display problem.

No, I didn’t figure it out yet. It maybe displays correctly 1 out of 10 times starting TT. For now I’ll just deal with it or use the forms interface to enter additional W-2s as they arrive and hope it get’s fixed in an update.

I wonder if it's some graphics display issue for certain screen display hardware/GPUs.

Any chance you can cursor-grab the lower-rt corner of the smaller screen, and expand it fuller that way?

I already tried that....didn't work. I'm a computer engineer so I'm knowledgeable enough to have already tried all of those things. This may be resolved now though...I was going to collect more data for the TT dev team before posting this and it installed an update....I've started TT 3 times in a row now and haven't been able to recreate the issue. Maybe something in the current update that's available fixed it.

Same issue here. Worked fine until a couple days ago. On stocks and W2 sections. Restarted program and computer, tried on my two monitors and to zoom in but it becomes worse, and to run as admin; no luck. There's no bottom right corner dragging button.
