Updated, now it wants activation code. After I input it says - This code has already been used by another system.

Hello, I don't know if anyone is still hanging out here in October but since it is now the weekend and there is no support, I figured I would try here. (And thanks in advance.) And, sorry this got so long but I kept adding more info as I found it. I've been working on this for HOURS. 

I was working on taxes in the morning and TurboTax was FINE. Now when I log in, a window comes up that says - activation and - enter your license code. When I do, a message comes up saying that "this code has already been used by another system." So it's like it loaded in a whole new copy of the software. I also fear that if/when I DO get it open, it will be blank, as it seems to be activating a new copy. I looked in my folder and now there are two identical copies of TT, and both ask for the activation code. 
I've been looking around and it seems like this is a pretty common problem. Nothing changed on my computer in those two hours between working on it and it going down. 
I saw one solution by TT
Disable antivirus - did it, didn't work. 
Reboot modem. Did it, didn't work. 
Don't have a VPN.
Tried to reset TCP/IP, setting weren't the same as they said on the instructions so I didn't mess with it. 
IP config - same as above. 
Another solution was to take out your flash drive - don't have one in. 
The only other solution I have seen is to call TT and get a new code. I'll try on Monday but not holding out much hope for that. Does anyone have a fix for this, so I can get back to working on taxes??

Where did you buy it? There are some unauthorized places selling used License Codes. Like BigHomeTax and some sellers on Amazon.

@VolvoGirl thank you for your rapid response and info. I bought it from Amazon, the seller just says - Sold By: Amazon.com Services LLC - so I'm guessing it is legit. Also, it was fine the whole time I was working on it in April to do my extension, and now, when I got back to it. The trouble started after I did the update. It said it would take five minutes but it took 40.

Weird, today when I tried it, the error message came up again, I clicked "try to log in with another account" (I have three for some reason) the next screen (I don't think I got this far before) said this account uses this code xxxxmynumbers, I clicked on that and I am in. Whaaaa? Might have used one of my activations but I don't care, I am IN!
Sorry I can be more help to other people having this problem, it looks like all the answers I saw were - call tech support. The number is - aww jeez they removed the number but hopefully easy to find.

I have the repro on my compute after upgrade TurboxTax Home & Business 2024, in the evening of 10/06/2025. After upgrading, TurboxTax, it keeps asking me to activate, while I did activate it on Jan 18, 2025. It says 5/5 activation used. Of course, my computer is the first 1 or 2 in the group of 5.

The problem is why the updated version cannot recognize the already-activated status.
fyi, I purchased from Costco on Jan 18, 2025
