Unemployment Returns

I had filed and received a refund prior to the tax amendment. 

Is there any additional refund that is due (from the 10,200 tax break) that I paid taxes on, for unemployment?

I have not received any additional refunds other than what was submitted prior to the tax break.

Good afternoon,

The software in Turbo Tax has been updated, so you can log into your account to check if you have an additional refund as a result of the change in Tax law excluding the unemployment benefits.

 

If the only adjustment to your income tax return is only for the unemployment exclusion, and you are due an additional refund, the IRS has instructed that you should not amend your tax return. They will adjust it for you and will send you the additional refund. Please see link below:

However, if you have additional refunds due to other credits that you were previously not entitled to, or if your state requires you to amend your tax return in order to claim the additional state refund, then I would recommend that you amend both your Federal and state tax returns to claim your additional refunds.
