TurboTax Premier 2019 cannot update

I am a TurboTax Premier user on windows 10, and when I click "Transmit Returns Now", I would have an error saying "There is an update available for your version of TurboTax. Please update" And when I click update, it says that there is no update available and that my software is up to date. Please help me solve this annoying problem as I spent the entire day filling out my taxes. I regret telling my coworkers to use TurboTax now after such an annoying incident.

Thank you so much,

Bruce

I am experiencing the same issue.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software.  I even exchange the software in the store for a different copy and the same thing.  After spending at least 10 hours doing this and being on the phone with TurboTax I finally was told there is a known issue and it is affecting many users.  There were not able to provide any ETA except that it is a known issue and they are working on it.

Please respond to post if able when it is working as I hope I can try again tonight to submit the return.

No dear sir/ma'am, the problem was not the updating, the problem is that even though the software IS up-to-date, it still does not let me transmit the returns, saying that "Please update your software before you can transmit your returns".

This may be an issue with your web browser.  Clear your browsers cookies and cache then reboot your computer.  If this does not solve the issue post a reply for additional help.

Again, how does the web browser impact anything when the program is locally installed on my desktop from the CD.   Since many of us have more than one web browser which one is TT accessing?

Tried that too and it was not successful.

This is usually a problem with how the TurboTax program is interacting with your computer. The fist recommendation is to clear the cache and cookies on your computer as follows:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/troubleshooting/help/how-to-clear-your-cache/00/26135

The next step would be to try another web browser when you are ready to transmit.

It would also be helpful to load the program on another computer if possible.

When attempting to e-file a return in the TurboTax for Windows CD/Download software, this message appears:

There is an update available for your version of TurboTax. Before you can file electronically, you’ll need to get this update. To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates. However, after updating, the same message continues to reappear, resulting in an endless loop.

Please click "There is an update available for your version of TurboTax" loop when e-filing (Windows) to learn more.

The link you provided with the update includes two updates for New York and Massachusetts users.  What about everyone else??  I waited a whole month to send my refund so far.  Please help.  I live in Illinois

Hi everyone.  I called turbo tax and tried everything they said but there is no fix.  What they told me to do is to e-file just the federal tax return and it worked.  You will have to paper mail the state tax return.  If you already paid to e-file the state tax return call them and they will give you a refund.  Horrible program 😕

I tried that and still getting the error! I downloaded the MA file to try updating, and it wouldn't let me install it either!
