Their software will prevent you from filing a 1040A if you itemized the previous year, even if you still qualify for the 1040A in the current year. Additionally, their support system says "Closed" and you can't contact a single real human. It's all lies and BS.
And the worst part is that they have a complete monopoly on tax filing in the US. These con artists are ripping off hard working taxpayers and stealing money out of our wallets. I wish somebody would sue these bastards out of existence. They're the absolute scum of the earth. My least favorite people on earth are Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, and the Executives at Intuit. I hope they all burn in hell
With the new tax laws everyone now uses a Form 1040 starting in 2018. There is no Form 1040A anymore. You used the term 1040A, but you likely were referring to "Free Edition". The most likely cause for an upgrade from Free Edition is one of the new Schedules 1-6.
In an Answer below I'll tell you about the 2 free products. If you can't use the regular Free Edition, you may qualify for the TurboTax Free File Edition, which has no form limitations, no fees, and no upgrades as long as you meet just one qualification to use it.
Yes, TurboTax Support is closed this time of night. Hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific (8AM-12 Midnight Eastern)
The regular
Free Edition is more limited this year due to tax law changes. If you
need any of the new Schedules 1-6, for instance, then you can't use
Free Edition. You can read about the new schedules at the link below. If
you click the blue "see schedule" link there, it will show you what each
schedule looks like.

TurboTax stole my refund, there is no live help to resolve this issue. I did notice they grabbed all of my next years information as well, this is really scary. They stole my last years refund at over $1,000 and they are trying to do it again.
