TT Online

I  attempted to start 2025 with TT online, which I used last year. My previous return wasn't there, so I tried uploading the ,tax2024 return saved on my computer.  The file was corrupted. I then purchased the desktop edition, installed, and guess what? The file was found and imported. What gives??

If you are trying to import your 2024-tax info, you can click the link below so you will see the instructions to upload your 2024-return info.

I did that, hence the error that my file is corrupt. So, the question is, why was it not corrupt when it imported into the desktop version? And why was it not in my TT cloud account in the first place?

There is no TurboTax Cloud account for desktop returns.   Tax returns prepared with the desktop software are only saved to your personal devices or cloud spaces.    Try transferring in the return again.   If you already started the return in desktop, you can open the return in TurboTax Online without transferring it in.

I thought I posted clearly. I used TT Online last year, 2024. When I tried to start online 2025, there was no record of my filing last year. I double checked the email used, and it was correct. Then, I tried importing from my computer. When all failed, I purchased the desktop.

I do not trust the online edition, and want TT to know there are multiple issues:  first, the fact my 2024 online return is not here, and secondly, my computer copy does not seem to be corrupted.
