My license code for the 2021 tax year is NOT listed in my account, nor is it listed in my confirmation email.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks

Nancy

Yes ... seems like  they have not yet been released ... look again later today or tomorrow.

Although the downloaded program becomes available every year sometime mid to late November with the online following sometime  in December  they are NOT fully operational programs ... they are only beta versions.  The final program and the state programs are never fully operational until late January at the earliest.

http://taxpreparationsoftware.com/

ANY tax software released by any company prior to about January 15 is only released for marketing and market share.  No program is complete and ready to file until the IRS approves their final forms and then individually reviews each program's implementation of the form.  And some tax situations aren't able to be filed until February or March, again mostly due to IRS delays.

Is 2021 available  to download now?  Where is the License Code?

I doubt the system will be fully functional until later in the day or tomorrow ... cannot even put in an order right now ... keep hitting "snags".   Not a surprise ... there are always issues in the beginning and no one really needs to be in a hurry to open a beta version that is incomplete and glitchy at best.

Thanks for your response.  But why does Turbo Tax advertise that the version will be available on 11/3 if the license code is not available, too?  Doesn't make sense.

I realize that this is not the final version but it's close enough for me to project my tax liabilities, which is what I am most anxious about.  Hopefully, the license code will be available very soon.

Available on 11/3 doesn't mean at 9 am ... could be as late as a minute before midnight pacific time and there are always glitches in the beginning so  patience is always needed.

For estimates on the 2021 return you should be using the fully operational 2020 program ...

This is my mini version of  a tutorial  that should be in the downloaded program:

What is Forms Mode?

Forms Mode lets you view and make changes to your tax forms "behind the scenes."

If you're adventurous, you can even prepare your return in Forms Mode, but we don't recommend it. You may miss obscure credits and deductions you qualify for, and you may forget to report things that will come back and haunt you later.

Forms Mode is exclusively available in the TurboTax CD/Download software. It is not available in TurboTax Online.

If you want to play around with different figures and tax scenarios without affecting your original return you can ….

  • >>>In the TurboTax CD/Download software by creating a test copy
  • 1.  Open your return in TurboTax.
  • 2.  From the File menu, choose Save As.
  • 3.  Give the copy a new name to distinguish it from the original (for example, by adding "Test" or "Example" to the file name).
  • 4. Click  Save. You are now safely working in the test copy and anything you do here will not affect the original.

  • >>  use the WHAT IF tool:
  • - Click Forms Icon (upper right of screen) or Ctrl 2 (forms view)
  • - Click on the Open Form Icon
  • - In the “Type a form name.” area type What-If (with the dash), click on the name of the worksheet - click on Open Form
  • - You will see the worksheet on the right side of the screen; enter the information right into the form
  • - To get back to interview mode - click on the Step-by-Step Icon (upper right of screen) or Ctrl 1

It's always a good idea to make a backup copy of your tax data file, in case your original gets lost or corrupted. Here's how:

  1. From the File menu in the upper-left corner of TurboTax, choose Save As (Windows) or Save (Mac).
  2. Browse to where you want to save your backup.
    • Tip: If you're saving to a portable device, save it to your computer first to prevent data corruption. Then, after completing Step 4, copy or move the backup file to your device.
  3. In the File name field, enter a name that will distinguish it from the original tax file (for example, add "Backup" or "Copy" to the file name)
  4. Click Save and then close TurboTax.
  5. Restart TurboTax and open the backup copy to make sure it's not corrupted. If you get an error, delete the backup and repeat these steps.

If you make changes to your original tax return file, repeat these steps to ensure your original and backup copies are in-synch.

AND save it as a PDF so you have access to a copy even if you don’t have the program still installed and operational :

AND protect the files :

Same here.  When I search, I can find a promising entry in the community forums, but clicking on it goes to an internal board, which required an Intuit employee login.  I tried calling, and the wait time is 15 to 20 minutes.  I guess I'll hope that it's working tomorrow

Yes.  I advance purchased directly from Intuit, my confirmation email did not have a license code.  I downloaded it today and the downloads page does not display a license code.  Trying to install and it is stuck on the License Code entry screen, I can't find one anywhere.

Hang in there ... they need to fix the problem ... eventually it will be corrected.  This is what you get for being an eager beaver on day one ... every year there are glitches in the system ... you are just one of the first to find it.

I still don't have a License Code, and in fact, my Downloads page is no longer showing my 2021 Turbotax order.  If I use the order lookup it shows the order, but there is no download for it and no License Code.

It said it was Intuit Turbo Tax for 2021.

I bought it on line.  I was given an "Order number" that is 14 characters long, NOT 16.

When I downloaded the app, it would not accept the 14 character code.

What can I do?
