This import was unsuccessful.

This message appears while I’m trying to import from any bank or brokerage account.

 

This message appears while the software still showing the status as trying connect to the institution.

 

Wasted hours talking with “expert”s who could not solve the issue, and kept asking me to seek help from the bank or brokerage to open the third party access, even though I have Mint and Personal Capital linked to those accounts without problem. Finally they said it was because of the version purchased from Amazon…

 

Turbotax, please fix it!

You may try this workaround. If you happen to have a password with special characters for your brokerage account, it may cause problems on your investment import. The workaround is to change your password on the account to something without special characters, complete the import, then change it back to your original password.

 

You may also opt to type in the information manually.
