"The stocks and crypto section will be ready soon"

Still seeing this after receiving an e-mail 10 days ago stating forms are ready.

Some forms are ready and some are not, To report stocks and crypto, you need Schedule D and Form 8949. The projected release date for both is January13.

Thanks for the update. My question was why I received an e-mail 10 days ago saying the forms were ready.

Thanks. again. 8949 states

Note: You may aggregate all short-term transactions reported on Form(s) 1099-B showing basis was reported to the IRS and for which no adjustments or codes are required. Enter the totals directly on Schedule D, line 1a; you aren’t required to report these transactions on Form 8949 (see instructions).

That's all I have ,so apparently I only need a schedule D. Does that sound correct to you? Thanks again.

Yes.  If you have no adjustments to the basis that has been reported to the IRS, for all short term transactions then only a Schedule D will be needed for your tax return.
