tax refund question

I submitted my tax return in early feb   the irs accepted it  but was not paid quickly so I knew something was up   I got a letter in the mail from them asking me to verify my identity   Now this is the third year in a row that they have come to me to verify my identity in one way or another   so I followed their instructions and on their website is said my identify was verified    now this is happened even though I had an identity protection pin that I had put on my return   it has been many days now and my return and refund have not bee approved   what can I do next to move things along  gary

Unfortunately, it sounds like you are already doing most of what you can, especially having an Identity Protection PIN.

We know a handful of things that seem to trigger the identity verification letter - such as moving or filing a return for the first time in many years - but for the most part the IRS doesn't share with us the algorithm that triggers the letters.
