Support yourself in 2016

I'm assuming it would be a tax benefit to have paid more than half of your living expenses in 2016? I'm right on the fence on this one so id prefer to pick the more beneficial option.  Thanks

The IRS is exact in these matters. They expect you to count every dollar you provided vs every dollar you parents provided. There is no wiggle room. You either contributed more than half or you didn't. You can use the support worksheet to help determine the issue.
