Whenever you get refund results that seem abnormally high for you, check your data entries very carefully.  Look for extra zeros and misplaced decimals.  Especially check your W-2 entries from Boxes 16 and 17.

The taxing authority will often accept your return even if there are errors on it initially. However, later on they may match it up with documents submitted by others and if they find a discrepancy, they will notify you of it and they may adjust your tax and make you pay in additional taxes if warranted.
