Software download

My TurboTax 2020 CD was purchased in Costco. The installation with a CD rom drive was okay. My new laptop is without a CD drive but I cannot download the software using the license code on the package. It always fails with the message "This license code has already been associated with an account. Please check that account and look for it in Downloads." I have tried different TurboTax and Intuit accounts were of no avail.

If you have already installed it using the CD then you need to log in to TurboTax using the same account that you installed the software onto the first computer with.  Then you can click on 'downloads' in that account and install the software from there on up to four more computers.

Where can I find the account on the first computer the software was first installed using CD?  I have tried two my TurboTax accounts they didn't work.

Try downloading the CD and downloading again.  This might prompt the account to pop up.  You will still need your login information to get into the account.

 

Follow these steps to sign in to your Intuit Account:

  1. Go to the account recovery page
  2. Enter one of the following:
    • Phone number (recommended)
    • Email address
    • User ID
  3. Follow the instructions. We'll customize them based on the info you provide and whether we recognize the device

Once you're done, we'll either send you a code to help you recover your account, or give you a list of accounts associated with your info.

If you’re still unable to recover your account, select Verify my account a different way on the Account Recovery page. We'll ask additional questions to verify your identity.

I have no problem logging into my account. I just cannot find the product I own which is TurboTax 2020 Home and Business. Using the license code on my CD package it always says "The license code has already been associated with an account."

If you installed from the CD it seems you can not download it from online now.  You can't do both CD and download.  There is a problem if you first installed the CD.  It doesn't connect you to an account you can find.  See the info on this FAQ

So you need to call in to get the download pushed to your account.
