Smart check date

I am ready to submit my taxes via e-file.

Early in the process, the smart check asked for filing date.

I believe I put in a date further ahead than the date I will now submit my taxes.

I don’t see the date on the 1040 page 2 and I can’t recreate the wizard to ask me for the filing date.

Do I need to be concerned or will the e-file authorization take care of this matter?

Thanks!

Not sure what you saw (or thought you saw), but there was no way to schedule the e-filing of your tax return for a date in the future.  Your return will not be e-filed until you click a big orange button that says "Transmit my returns now."     There will not be a date on the e-filed Form 1040.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

This was during “run error check” portion of the Federal in Turbo Tax. It asked me to put in a date. When I look at page 2 of our 1040 there is no signature and no date so I’m thinking it was just a TT thing.

There is never a physical signature or date on Form 1040 when you e-file.   So you were seeing something else and misunderstood what you saw.   You "sign" your e-filed return electronically by entering your 2023 AGI.
