Schedule E depreciation delay?

I notice for rental property depreciation looks consistent from 2024 to 2025 for one of the rental properties.  However, for the other rental property, 2025 decreased a lot from 2025 depreciation.  It says "depreciation and amortization will be ready by February, but liekly sooner"  We are updating this section for latest tax laws.  How long should I wait?  Will this likely change the 2025 depreciation on the strange decrease property?  I am getting the same message on the first property that has the stable year after year depreciation.  Just the second one looks funky.

Please use this link Sign up for email notification which will let you know when the depreciation/amortization will be ready to file with Schedule E. Anticipated update is February 11th.

@DianeW777 do you know if that’s the last update or a series of updates?

Updates are happening throughout the tax season for various reason including IRS requirements and changes. With tax law changes comes diligence on both sides for taxpayers.

@DianeW777 What other future dates or is it just one time update on Feb 11?  Reason I ask of because I want to finish and complete the taxes but would hate to mail it tomorrow and there is another update end of Feb or early March that I miss.  How do we know if Feb 11 will be final and no more updates?

You can check the Forms Availability table to confirm that all forms in your return have been updated for e-filing. TurboTax will not allow you to e-file until all forms are finalized in the software. Also, remember that TurboTax offers a 100% Accurate Calculation Guarantee.

@PatriciaV the forms tool is useless for this topic as it has indicated throughout this topic the past week or so that this form is available.

@PatriciaV @DianeW777 can Intuit staff confer and come up with a consistent update on this question - we're seeing "after 2/11", "after 2/13", "by 2/13"... someone at Intuit knows more accurately at this point?

@jyeh74 the latest estimate being provided in other threads is 2/13 not 2/11.  they also say "after".  we've also seen with other forms updates this season that the s/w update could actually come the morning after date given.

If you continue to update TurboTax Desktop and open your TurboTax Online (automatic updates) and you still see the 'ready by February' message, it's not yet finalized. Sign up for the update so you will be notified the most efficient and timely way.  It is posted for convenience here.

Please use this link Sign up for email notification which will let you know when the depreciation/amortization will be ready to file with Schedule E. The target date is still February 11th, however the notification will let you know.

@baldietax @DianeW777 I just did an update as today is February 13 and the form for schedule depreciation is still not updated. Who knows when the next time is?

who knows indeed... latest in this other thread with lots of impatient people was "We are hoping the update will be by this weekend, if not before. We don't have a specific date."

(ignore "before" at this point tho).

I've been advised today by management that the work on the depreciation section of TurboTax is continuing and expected to be completed with an update coming the evening of Thursday, February 19th.
