Says wrong bank information.

When I put my routing and account number down for my direct deposit bank information it claimed to not match any records. (Specifically for my account number I believe) One of my bank tellers told me to confirm anyway but I’d much rather ask if anyone else has had this issue?

Be sure you are typing in  just numbers, and not (say) a letter O for the number zero, or a small letter L for the number 1.

It’s all numbers. The information is 110% correct. Like I said I looked over it with my bank teller.

I am having the same problem. I haven't changed banks, the routing numbers have not changed and Turbotax says my routing number does not match. So I entered a different bank account and am getting the same "does not match", which does not make sense since its new account which I have never used with TT before.  What's going on here?

I'm having the same problem.  Same bank, same account as last year.  Now it is saying that the account information doesn't match.  Utter bull**bleep**!

Which bank is this? Have you tried another routing number? Sometimes banks have more than one routing number. If your bank has several, use the one for electronic transfers. Also see, https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3302372

Some bank accounts have leading zeroes in the account number.  This is sometimes problematic if your bank recently merged or was acquired by a larger institution, and the local tellers may not know the correct length of the account number.  Most banks have this information available within your online banking site, or it's also available from a national number.

You should also be able to confirm your account information from your previous year's tax return if you used the same account.

I, too , am having the same problem. My numbers are absolutely correct, yet Turbotax will not accept them. This has to be a problem with the program. Come on, experts! Admit that there is a problem and do something about it!

Edit (3/30/21):

I was able to finally solve this problem as follows (download version):

Go to Tools>My Tax Data>Info Wks, Routing number.

Click on that entry, then click on Go to Form. You'll find both numbers there and they can be edited. Click on "Close Form" when finished.

I found an error in my account number on this form, fixed it, and was able to e-file.

My issue is similar, I am doing my daughter's return, I didn't have her banking information when I started the return and I have not been able to return to that "section" to add the information. Any ideas?

If you have not yet e-filed or mailed your tax return, you can go to the “File” section and enter/update your bank information.

I did that but it still refused to allow me to proceed.  It said "too many numbers".  SO I deleted the first two numbers that were zero's and it allowed me to proceed.  Tax Cut Software does not recognize account numbers that have zeros to start with nor numbers that are longer than eight digits.

@DougDoug

Did you need assistance still, as you are responding on an old post.
