Round trip expense out side metropolitan area

my husband is self employed let say he is working out of our metropolitan area for a day , his odometer reading start a 00010 and ended at 00150 so he drove a 140 miles round trip, we are going to write off this expence on our dayli mileage log , but on his way he stop at the gas station on the side of the road and also he went to eat at a restarant during his luch my question is all these stops are included in the 140 miles round trip , or we need to write off a separate expense por each stop? Or make a note with detailed information about the lcation.

Generally, you would report the beginning and ending mileage of the business trip (in your example the odometer reading of 150 & 10 should be sufficient), and also make notes to record: names, addresses, reasons for the visits, and expenses, click here for IRS publication 463, chapter 5.
