Review 1099 R, everything is correct

My 1099 R is correct but wants me to review

Showing REVIEW is normal.  There are two conditions when you open the TurboTax program:

  • Edit/Add if you haven't started that section yet.
  • Review if you have started the section.

To be sure that your entries are correct you should select Federal Review on the task bar that has:

  • Income & Expenses,
  • Deductions & Credits,
  • Other Tax situations,
  • and Federal Review.

I have reviewed the 1099R 3 times.  Each time my selected answer disappears on the last question.  (it's all an RMD)

Since you are stuck in a loop.   My recommendation would be to delete the 1099-R and then re-enter the 1099-R.   Sometimes this is the only way you can get rid of what is hanging up in TurboTax.   

 

To delete the 1099-R:

  1. Go into the Income and Expenses,
  2. Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
  3. Click on the Revisit button for the 1099-R
  4. Click Continue to the screen "Your 1099-R Entries"
  5. Delete the entry of the 1099-R 
  6. Then click "Add a 1099-R"
  7. Then re-enter the 1099-R

After you have deleted and re-entered the 1099-R, run a Review.
