Renaming Forms in My Return

I would like to rename or add an identifier to the Forms in My Return to better identify them.

Follow these steps:

  1. go back to the  Federal Income section,
  2. locate your 1099-R forms,
  3. select edit.
  4. add on to the name of the payer. The IRS looks at several factors and a little note for yourself at the end won't hurt at all. Here is an example I did for what I think you want to do.

Like what?  You can't change the name of forms.

Well, for example,  I have several 1099-R from the same institution and it would be nice to identify each one with something unique like the gross distribution amount.
