Rejected IRS filing

I got rejected three times, because IRS thought that maybe I had a duplicate 1099R.  But they did not say which one out of 12 was the duplicate. There were no duplicates, but two had the same $ amount and Payer. So I tweaked the payer name and amount. Still rejected. Wish we could add some comment to the filing to get a person, not a computer to review the issue. So I made some more changes and submitted without the CA form. We'll see what happens on Monday.

rejection comes from the IRS side, not TurboTax. so your complaint needs to be addressed to them.

I understand that it is IRS rejecting. But their rejection said you MAY have duplicate 1099R. After multiple checks that I don’t, there should be a way through TT that would send the file to an actual IRS person that could verify if I really did have a duplicate and which one. Or notice that the IRS computer made a mistake and override the rejection. My only recourse now is to file by mail, which is probably harder for the IRS.

This can happen from time to time with 1099-R's and W-2's.  The simple solution is to add $1 to one 1099-R and subtract $1 from the other.  This will yield the exact same taxable income, and eliminate the error.

JohnB5677 got it right. I added and subtracted $1 and on the next try the IRS accepted my return. Yea!
But it would be better if the IRS could notify you with what they think is wrong and be able to adjust to your response.
Until next year, Thanks!
