Rejected e-file code FW2-502

I have tried to e-file my taxes twice now and they keep getting rejected with the code FW2-502. I understand that this code means the EIN numbers don't match the IRS records. I'm wondering if this is an error though, I have the same 3 W2s as last year, I have confirmed all 3 are correct, and when I review the error it's not mentioning just 1 W2 but that all 3 are wrong. That doesn't seem right. Any ideas?

Perhaps clearing your cache and cookies--assuming you have not already done so--may solve the issue.   A full or corrupted cache can keep TurboTax from functioning properly.  If that doesn't work, try a different browser such as Safari or Firefox if you're currently using Chrome and vice versa.

Then, delete the W-2 entries, and re-enter them again manually.

I'm using software that I purchased from Sam's Club so I'm not sure clearing the cache will work, but I'll give it a try. I did try deleting the W2's and reentering but unfortunately it was rejected again. My co-worker has the same W2s and he was able to e-file his return so I'm thinking this is a Turbo Tax error and now and issue with the IRS.

The best way, and often the only way, to delete income forms (including forms W-2, 1098, 1099, and K-1) is to do it from the summary screen for that particular form.

So, try that first — here's how:

  1. Sign into your TurboTax account
  2. Go to the Search bar and search for the form by typing the form name (for example, W-2 or 1099-Misc)
  3. Select the Jump to link with the form name
  4. Then, see if that takes you to a summary screen
    • If searching for a W-2, for example, typing W-2 in the search bar and selecting the Jump to link in the search results takes you to the Your W-2 info so far screen
    • You can remove the W-2 on this screen by selecting the trash icon

Once you delete the Forms, log out of your account and clear your cache.

Please follow the instructions in the link below: Once you clear the cache log into your TurboTax account and enter the 1st W-2 then run the review to see if any filing errors before entering the 2nd one.

I have the same problem. And this solution offered does not fix the issue.

To clarify, do you have multiple W2's or just one? Also do you have a 1099R?
